Clipstone can be proud of progress made in 2019/20

Well, we have reached the end of another season, this time very early and with nine games remaining.

The FA has decided the records from steps three to six in the non-league system should be ‘expunged’, meaning no promotion or relegation of clubs.

After many years of great difficulties both on and off the field we must pay tribute to the loyal members who stuck through the hard times when literally the club’s future was on the line. So, looking at the bigger picture and look at where we sit in the league (mid-table), we can be proud of what the management team and squad have achieved.

There have been some memorable victories against local rivals; Rainworth (5-2), Shirebrook (4-0) and Teversal (2-0) as well as setting up our under 18s team in December. We hope this now creates a pathway for local lads to continue developing with the hope of one day playing for the first team.

We have a vibrant young team led by Jason Foster and Lewis Warwick and have already seen young lads improve throughout the season, notably Sam Ogden and Tom Weaver who are real coups for the club.

Manager Dave Hoole has added some real quality along the way too with Jack Warwick, Josh Ing and Jack Siddall to name a few.

Optimism at the club is high and if we get the right investment from sponsors next year, we could really see a Clipstone side capable of playing at the right half of the table.
