The game should go ahead at the third time of asking on Wednesday with an earlier than usual kick off time of 5pm.

The fixture was pushed back 24 hours after Mansfield’s trip to Colchester was delayed by a day.

But angry Evatt says Bolton have been punished by the EFL, who overruled Wanderers’ refusal to agree to the game being pushed back.

“I find it astonishing that we have two games called off on Tuesdays when we’ve travelled all that way because of their unsuitable pitch and yet we get one day recovery time less and a massive long journey (Southend away on Saturday) because they want to play on Wednesday,” he told the Manchester Evening News.

“Because apparently Colchester’s pitch was frozen, they wanted to change that game to Sunday, which in turn they wanted to move ours to Wednesday.

"I just find it astonishing after we’ve been twice, they’ve called it off twice because of their unsuitable pitch and we’re the ones that are being punished. It just doesn’t make any sense.”
