This girls six-a-side tournament is for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils and attracted different teams from across the county.

Halam won the competition, St Mary’s were runners-up, Forest View finished third, followed by Blidworth, Annesley and Morven Park.

The Player of the Tournament award went to Casey of Blidworth.

Notts County chairman Alan Hardy handed out the certificates and prizes to the teams taking part at the end of the day.

Here he is pictured above with fourth-placed team Blidworth.

Blidworth Oaks Primary School teacher Phil Johnson explained the idea of the tournament is to celebrate girls’ involvement in sport, as well as to inspire them to stay involved as they head towards secondary school.
