Belper United and Blidworth MW share the points

Belper United and Blidworth played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in a dramatic ending.

Both sides cancelled each other out for the majority of the the first half with United playing the ball around nicely, but Blidworth kept a great shape and determination to limit the goalmouth action.

After 20 minutes Evan Garnett nearly put Belper ahead when he had a shot cleared off the line having gone around the goalkeeper.

Blidworth’s lively forward Lee Easom went on a mazy run before he shot just went wide.

The game came to life after 40 minutes when United’s Adam Moss was sent off for his second bookable offence.

Blidworth took advantage with United still reorganising and Lee Easom smashed a volley home to take the lead just before the break.

But Belper showed great determination and took the game to Blidworth.

And they got the deserved equaliser when Sam Vickers slammed in a left foot volley after 65 minutes.

United were looking for another goal and the keeper did well to tip over a Joe Conkleton free-kick.

Blidworth finally got back in the game and, after 74 minutes, took the lead for a second time.

A low cross caused trouble in the United six yard box and Max Curzon took advantage and slotted home.

Almost immediately United equalised again when Sam Vickers curled home after a collision between two Blidworth defenders.

Blidworth were reduced to 10 men on 88 minutes, but United had no time to capitalise and the game finished a draw.
