Anderson plays as young Stags lose at Morecambe
A youthful Mansfield Town reserves side lost 3-2 at Morecambe in Central League action this afternoon.
Forward Iyrwah Gooden scored twice in the second half against a Shrimps team featuring a few senior players.
For Mansfield 16-year-old Jordan Armsden made his reserves debut at centre-back and had a solid performance while transfer-listed ‘forgotten man’ Paul Anderson also played for 80 minutes in his bid to try to get back into the first team picture after the club’s failure to offload him before the transfer deadline.
Boss David Flitcroft said: “Coops (coach Richard Cooper) will let us know how he Paul got on. We are still looking how he is training and seeing if the indicators are good.”
