Easter Monday’s 2-0 defeat to Grimsby has left Alfreton six points above the relegation but having played a game more than Welling United, and the Reds will be wanting a win to try and keep a gap between the sides with just three games remaining.

Eastleigh won 2-1 away at Alfreton’s relegation rivals Welling, as they look to continue their promotion push towards the play offs.

Reason headed Eastleigh in front with just six minutes on the clock but Osborne pegged back the away side when the ball was crossed in which he headed home. However Turley put Eastleigh back ahead and gave the visitors all three points when he smartly tucked away his effort from outside the box.

This result left Eastleigh just two points behind fifth placed Forest Green, but also have a game in hand over them.

A win for Alfreton could see them nine points clear of Welling, who occupy the last relegation spot.

A loss could see the gap reduced to just three points and Welling having a game in hand.

A win for Eastleigh could take them up to fifth place, whereas a loss could see them drop down a place and see the gap between themselves and the play off places widen.
