Alfreton Town sign Burton Albion’s Jimmy Phillips on loan until end of season

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has boosted his squad ahead of Saturday’s home game against top-of-the-table Barnet by bringing in left-sided winger Jimmy Phillips from Burton Albion on loan to the end of the season.

Phillips (25) has made only one substitute appearance for the Brewers under new manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink since recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained towards the end of last season.

He is currently Burton’s longest-serving player.

It is a second spell with the Reds for former Stoke City player Phillips who appeared in pre-season games on loan from the Potters at the Impact Arena prior to the 2008/09 season and was an unused substitute for the first game of the 2008/09 season against Hyde FC.

Phillips is added to Nicky Law’s squad for the big clash against Barnet on Saturday. Meanwhile, Alfreton sent two players out on loan deadline day with central defender Jordan Keane joining Vanarama Conference rivals Lincoln City and attacking midfield player Lee Stevenson going to King’s Lynn.

Both loans are to the end of the season.
