The new-look squad which already has five new signings in it, has been training since last Tuesday and won 4-1 at Buxton last Friday evening.

They now face a tough few days with visits from two Skybet Championship sides and Notts County in the space of a week.

On top of that, the management team will be assessing the results of Tuesday evening’s invitation trials game which was held at Shirebrook and there could well be more new faces coming into the club before this weekend’s action.

This Saturday (July 11) sees a very attractive first pre-season home game when Sheffield Wednesday make the short trip down the M1.

There will be plenty of attention surrounding the fixture as it will be a first official game in charge for new Owls manager Carlos Carvalhal.

Next Tuesday (July 14), Rotherham United are the visitors to the Impact Arena and the kick-off against Steve Evans’ side is 7.30pm.

Notts County are the visitors to Derbyshire on Saturday, July 18th and Magpies manager Ricardo Moniz could well parade striker Jon Stead as they gear up towards getting out of League Two at the first attempt following relegation last season.

Admission

Admission to each of the Wednesday, Rotherham and Notts County games is £10 for adults, £5 for concessions (over 65) and just £2 for under-16s.

All three games are pay at the gate with no segregation and there are no Early Bird or Group Saver Tickets available for these games.

Alfreton Town Supporters’ Association are holding their AGM at the King Alfred Hotel public house on Monday, July 13th at 7.30pm.

This is an important meeting for supporters as the association look to build towards the new season.
