Alfreton Town look to kick start season with win at home to Brackey Town

Alfreton Town will be hoping to finally get their first home win of the season when they host Brackley Town on Saturday.

Nicky Law’s new-look squad play a Brackley side that has won one and lost one of their first two games, losing their last outing 1-0 to Nuneaton on Tuesday evening.

A goal from former Nottingham Forest striker Marlon Harewood in the fourth minute was enough for Nuneaton to condemn Brackley to a first league defeat of the season.

Also in midweek, Alfreton lost 1-0 to Lowestoft Town in what was the Suffolk club’s first ever visit to the Impact Arena.

Jake Reed’s goal on the hour ultimately separated the two sides.

However, matters got worse for the Reds as they received yet another red card, this time captain Dan Bradley getting sent off for a reckless challenge.

Both Alfreton and Brackley will be looking for a victory to try and get their season going and they will both be wanting to improve their early season form and get a good three points on the board.
