The Reds won 2-1 at seventh-placed Tamworth on Boxing Day and followed up with a dominant home display against top-of-the-table Solihull Moors on Monday which unluckily yielded just a point after the visitors equalised in the last minute.

“Obviously we are really pleased with the last two performances we have had, especially yesterday (against Solihull)” reflected Law.

“The first one at Tamworth we could have been out of sight before it got close near the end. Against Solihull, the response of the fans at the end of the game said everything. It was a team effort where everyone came together and they have come off the pitch having put a performance in to which the fans responded. The team have put a physicality to their game that we have been lacking the past few weeks.

“We now need to go on and try and put that level of performance in not just for two games together, but every week.

“We have been trying to get across to the players how difficult it is to win games of football at this level.

“It’s not teaching the players how to play football, it is all about getting them to want to win.

“We have always been a club where other teams don’t want to come and play us and I think the players are realising what is required.

“Hopefully the penny has dropped and they are starting to understand that you have to put yourself on the line and compete for every ball first and foremost. The last two games the players have played to an intensity that we want.”

Law also had praise for Solihull and says his side can learn lessons from the way they never gave up.

“We have got to give credit to Solihull. When you are top of the table like they are you stick at it to the end. Even if you have been dominated like they were, they kept going and made sure they went home with something from the game.

“The amount of games we have been the better team in this season and come away with nothing has been annoying and to dig in like Solihull did is something our lads can take on board” ended Law.
