Alfreton Town aim to build on improvement against Nuneaton Town

Alfreton Town will be hoping to build on their improved form when they face struggling Nuneaton Town at the Impact Arena this Saturday.

The Reds go into the game on a high after a confidence-boosting week in which they picked up seven out of nine points.

Manager Nicky Law also hopes to have a double boost with the possible return from injury of both Dan Bradley and Jordan Keane.

Aside from Nathan Hicks, who will be out for between four and six weeks with a shoulder injury, only Duane Courtney is still on the recovery list and he should be able to begin training soon.

Alfreton have yet to beat Nuneaton Town in the Conference Premier having drawn one and lost the other three of four encounters so far.

The Reds also succumbed to a 1-0 FA Trophy defeat at home to the ‘Boro last season.

Last sesaon the sides drew 1-1 in the league in Derbyshire with Nuneaton taking the honours with a 3-0 success in the reverse fixture.

You have to go back to the Conference North title-winning season for Alfreton’s only home league win over Nuneaton, a 3-2 success on April 30th, 2011.

Nuneaton arrive having slipped into the bottom four in the table after a 3-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday evening.
