Reds manager Nicky Law will require late fitness checks on both Todd Jordan and Stefan Galinski but will definitely be without latest signing Durrell Berry who left the club after just one game to join struggling National League side Torquay United.

As well as a place in the third qualifying round draw on Monday, there is prize money of £4,500 for the winners of the tie.

The Lamb has been a happy hunting ground over past years for Alfreton Town with two wins, two draws and just one defeat being suffered in league games there.

The last fixture between the two sides was back on March 18, 2014, when Alfreton triumphed 4-2 at the Impact Arena in the Conference Premier.

Alfreton have only met Tamworth in the FA Cup twice before and both times were way back in the 1974/75 season when the sides drew 1-1 in a first qualifying round tie in Derbyshire before Tamworth edged the replay 1-0 in Staffordshire.

The Reds had won 1-0 at Bedworth United in the preliminary round.

On home soil this season, Tamworth are unbeaten having won their first two although the wins were followed up by three draws.

Goals have been something of a rare commodity as the Lambs have scored five in five at home and conceded just three.

Overall, Andy Morrell’s side have scored thirteen and conceded eight from eleven league games so a tight game is in prospect.

Alfreton will be looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat Stockport County last Saturday, a result which ended a run of four straight wins for Nicky Law’s side.
