AFC win battle of the Bulls in cup clash

The midweek battle of the Bulls was won comfortably by AFC Mansfield as the visitors triumphed 6-2 in the first round of the Notts FA Senior Cup at Bulwell with Jake Park bagging a hat-trick.

AFC are currently riding high at the top of the Northern Counties East League First Division and took the lead on 29 minutes when Jake Park glanced home from a free kick.

Joe Cheesman doubled the lead six minutes later with a free header from a corner.

Jake Fisher pulled one back from the spot on 43 minutes after Conor Carter had been fouled.

However, AFC pulled clear after the break with Craig Mitchell netting a 51st minute penalty and Park heading home his second on the hour.

After Jay Knight pulled another back on 62 minutes from a corner, Park’s hat-trick came on 74 minutes after a defensive error.

Bulwell’s Daniel Chadwick was sent-off on 83 minutes for a second bookable offence before Steve Sowter grabbed the sixth on 85 minutes.

Bulwell’s next game is away at Keyworth United in the Central Midlands League South on Saturday.
