Stags lifted the trophy in style and famously also made it the FA Cup fifth round before defeat to then First Division Carlisle United ended the dream. Ray Clarke banged the goals in with 28 for the season.
We also have The Mansfield Town side of 1970/71. Stags would go on to finish the campaign seventh in Division Three. Dudley Roberts was the top scorer with 22 goals.
There’s a classic picture from Stags v Blackpool in 1979 and a very different looking Field Mill, as well as club legend Phil Stant celebrating a goal and record appearance Rod Arnold with the fans in 1977. And to complete a trio of legends, we have Ken Wagstaff, voted Stags’ player of the century.
We also have a cracking image of a group of Stags fans getting ready to head up to Elland Road in 1970 for an FA Cup fifth round tie.
