Lindon Meikle, Matt Green, Matt Rhead and John Dempster certainly spring to mind. But there were certainly plenty of players whose legacy was not quite as long-lasting.

5. Shane Redmond

6. Ben Hutchinson

7. Ross Dyer
Ross Dyer was signed by Mansfield in August 2011, after his £6,000 compensation fee was paid by the 12th Stag. He scored nine goals in 47 appearances in the 2011/12 season but missed the club's promotion success the following season because of a cruciate knee ligament injury. Photo: Anne Shelley
8. Anthony Howell
