Flying start to new season for Mansfield Roller Derby

The exciting sport of roller derby swung into action for a new season when the Mansfield women's team got off a flying start.

Mansfield Roller Derby, founded in 2012, are taking part in the British Women’s Championship, organised by the UK Roller Derby Association. Having finished third in Tier Four West last season, they have switched to Tier Four North this term and are optimistic about their chances of success.

They began with a 200-point win over Grimsby team, Grim Reavers, beating them by 336 points to 136 in a round of matches hosted by Wakey Wheeled Cats at Dewsbury Sports Centre in west Yorkshire. Their next game is on Sunday, March 5 when they travel to Grimsby to take on Durham Rolling Angels.
