Elliot is a record-breaker

Sherwood Colliery SC’s Elliot Clogg (14) became a record-breaker after being selected to compete in the English Schools Swimming Association (ESSA) Inter-Divisional Championships in Bristol.

Swimming in the North East Divisional squad, Elliot joined other selected swimmers from Yorkshire, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and Durham, taking two individual gold medals (200m freestyle and 100m backstroke), a team gold in the 4x100m medley relay and a team silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay.

Elliot’s time in the 100m backstroke (1:01.5) set a new ESSA Junior Boys’ record and the North East Division went on to win the event overall.
