Donington Park to host launch of popular British Touring Car Championship

For the third year running Donington Park race circuit will plays host to the ever popular British Touring Car Championship Season launch.

Donington opens its gates to free admission for fans on 24th March to see the first official test session of the 2015 line up of BTCC cars before the season opener at Brands Hatch in two weeks time

2014 BTCC Champion Colin Turkington will be hoping to continue where he ended last season and showing fans how he hopes to carry on with new team for 2015 in his Team BMR sponsored Volkswagen CC.

Reigning champion Turkington will compete alongside fellow double champion and 2014 runner-up, Jason Plato with Aaron Smith and Team owner Warren Scott making a team of four cars.

A three driver line-up from West Surrey Racing will include three times World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx, with Sam Tordoff and Rob Collard, no strangers to touring cars

All the competing teams will be present including cars from Honda Team Dynamics, new Civic Type R, 888 MG, Rob Austin Racing Audi A4’s, Laser Tools Racing and WIX Racing’s Mercedes Benz A-Class and Power Maxed Racing’s Chevrolet Cruze Saloons.

Driver line ups will include Honda’s Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden. A driver move to Triple Eight Racing –Pirteck MG6 GT for 2013 champion Andrew Jordon and 2014 Clio Cup runner up Josh Cook in a RacingforHeroes Power Maxed Racing’s Chevrolet Cruze

A new team and manufacturer to the series are the two Infiniti Support Our Paras – Infiniti Q50’s of Richard Hawken and Derek Palmer Jnr,

Alongside racing, the aim of the team is to specifically help raise awareness and funds for Support Our Para’s, the official charity of The Parachute Regiment, one of the most iconic Regiments in the British Army.

The British Touring Car Championship is by far the biggest motor racing championship of its kind in the UK and the Media Day last Year attracted nearly 250 media representatives from TV, Radio print and on-line.

The action returns to Donington Park over Easter Weekend 18th and 19th April where fans will see three BTCC races on the Sunday with plenty of support race action including the Renault UK Clio Cup and MSA Formula Championship, Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and KICK Start Energy Ginetta Junior Championship.
