Selston got themselves level on 14 minutes, Ben Moore being tripped by Burton Joyce’s goalkeeper who had fumbled the ball and Sean Gregory stepping up to net the spot-kick.

But Burton Joyce responded well and were back in front nine minutes later as a deep corner was met by Ryan Easom at the back post and he headed into the roof of the net.

That was how it remained until half-time before Selston missed a golden chance to get level soon after the break when Jay Cooper was fouled in the area but this time Gregory put his penalty over the bar.

Undeterred, Selston equalised two minutes later when Moore put Dominic Airey through on goal and he finished well into the bottom corner.

That was enough to seal the as Selston fought hard to grind out the three points.

Elsewhere, waterlogged pitches accounted for several matches but Awsworth Villa were beaten 2-1 by PMG Cavaliers in the Senior Division.

In Division Two, Watnall Athletic went back to the top of the table with a 4-0 win over Underwood Villa Reserves, Joe Brookes, Keiran Miles, Nicklaus Thorpe and Martin Ward scoring for Watnall who benefited from now second-placed Kimberley MW AFC not being able to play due to the weather.
