Deadeye Jenny retains national titles

A young Nuncargate archer has retained both her national titles at the Archery GB National Junior Championships at Lilleshall.

Jenny Bryan (11) won both the U12 compound bow titles last year and last week repeated the feat, albeit ending up having to share one of them.

On the Saturday she retained her FITA Metric Five trophy, then on Sunday she fought out a terrific battle with Brody Brownhills in the Bristol Five, only missing the central gold bullseye with 11 of her 144 shots.

But Brownhills stayed with her and the pair eventually had to share the trophy.

However, Jenny did end up with a third trophy as, being a member of the East Midlands Junior Ladies Archery Squad, they took the team regional title based on the three members’ results put together.

Jenny and Mia Agar had great weekends, but the third member, Hollie Smith also broke a national record on Sunday with 144/144 in the gold.

Jenny is a member of Hucknall-based Bowmen of Sherwood Archery Club.
