Cuckney CC's NPL title hopes dealt a huge blow

The visitors took the toss and opted to have first dig. Despite 30 from Somair Chaudry at 67-3 it was probably not the start they had hoped for.

Dominic Wheatley (35) added 79 with Dominic Brown, before Brown put on a further 73 with Alex King (37).

Brown finished 101* from 90 balls from the final tally of 263-8.

In reply, 56 from James Hawley had Cuckney off and running, he put on 79 with Will Butler (34) for the second wicket, but that was pretty much as good as it got for the home side.

From 97 for one the slumped to 160 all out inside of 45 overs.

Chris Glover (three for 22) and Zain Ramzan (3-42) doing the damage as Kimberley won by 103 runs to remain two points behind Cavs.

Elsewhere in the division, Mansfield Hosiery Mills remain winless on the season as they returned empty-handed from their trip to Radcliffe-on-Trent.

Reicko Parker-Cole set the early pace after the hosts were asked to bat, making 65 and featuring in a stand worth 54 with Matthew Norris but the Millers were still in touch as they slipped to 158-6. A swift 79-run stand between Jake Fish (57*) and Caleb Mierkalns (49) boosted them to 249-7. Anuk Fernando’s 3-63 was the pick of the bowling.

MHM found themselves in a hole early at 36-4 before a stand of 90 between Savin Perera (68) and Patrick Delahunty (42) got them back on a more even keel.

Sadly from 162-5, they lost four for 17 to effectively end their hopes and despite 35* from Daniel Harris succumbed to 216 all out, thanks in no small part to Eddie Torr’s 4-54.
