Thoresby no match for champs Ordsall

The gulf in class was massive as Bridon cruised to a mammoth 309 for 5 with everyone chipping in once again.

David Fagan (53), Darren Spooner (48*), Tim Miles (55*) and Marc Brewer (34) all piled up the runs against a toiling Thoresby attack who were flayed to every part of the ground.

The reply was no different as Thoresby struggled for runs and were dismissed for just 164 with David Fagan (3 for 11) changing his wicket-keeping pads for the ball and recording the best figures.

Bridon’s strength has been their consistency throughout the season whilst Thoresby’s final league position should have been much better.

They are a good side but at times ,when it is least expected, they turn in a woeful performance.

Clipstone completed an excellent first season back at the top level with a comprehensive five wicket win at relegated Retford.

Batting first Retford were bowled out for just 144 after an opening stand of 67 by Pascal Broadley and Mark Bull (37) looked to have put them on the way to a big score.

Jason Gorman (3 for 46) and Ian Woodall (6 for 21) did the damage and both bowled immaculately and waited for the batsmen to make mistakes which they duly did.

Although they lost two early wickets the result was never in much doubt and Jason Gorman (32*) completed a fine all round match at one of his former clubs.

Bradley Wright and Josh Flowers also batted well as Clipstone completed an excellent season on 145 for 5 and victory.

Glapwell sank to a five wicket defeat against Notts. & Arnold Amateur at Park Avenue and at no time did the result look likely to be any different.

Batting first Glapwell could only manage 131 all out with Billy Davies top scoring on 34. Liam Brown was the tormentor in chief taking 6 for 28 in a fine stint of bowling.

Notts. & Arnold wasted no time in knocking off these runs despite an heroic stint by Matt Page who took 4 for 28, but quite simply Glapwell were never really in this match.

Harthill pulled off another terrific win as they easily pushed aside Cuckney II by 83 runs.

Dinal Fonseka (38), Ian Briggs (60), Kevin Cooper (62) all batted well as Harthill piled up 211 for 9 in their 50 overs. Mark Langford was the only Cuckney bowler to shine taking 5 for 20.

Once again Daniel Wood (34) was the only batsman to shine for Cuckney as they were blasted out for 128. James Radford (4 for 48) and Rob Jones (3 for 34) bowled superbly for Harthill who would be at least half-way up the league had they shown this form earlier in the season.
