The Division One leaders had resumed on 325 for five after lunch and added a further 22 runs before Notts struck again. Rory Burns, having reached a personal milestone from the previous delivery, fell for 153, nicking Samit Patel to slip.

Sam Curran was the only other batsman to be dismissed in the session, also falling to Patel, for 70.

Rikki Clarke remains undefeated on 88 at the interval.
