During the winter Wasim had agreed a deal to return for a second short-form campaign at Trent Bridge.

Notts will entertain Lancashire Lightning a week later on Friday, September 11 and visit Derbyshire Falcons on Sunday, September 13.

Torrential rain prevented any play at Lancashire Lightning at Aigburth. The bad weather set in at lunchtime on Merseyside and never looked likely to relent as two sides with high hopes prepared to meet one another.

It was not surprising in the slightest when the umpires called the game off just before three o’clock, leaving the two sides with two victories and two games lost to the weather each.
