NCB Premier preview: Table-toppers Kimberley hope to extend unbeaten run

Hosts West Indian Cavaliers slid to fourth after an unexpected defeat to the Notts Academy last week, and defeat here would all but mathematically end their title hopes.

Caythorpe moved back up to second after bettering Farnsfield in a run-fest. They welcome Ordsall Bridon to Caythorpe Road.

Bridon have dragged themselves off the bottom of the table after victory over Attenborough and are just seven points behind Farnsfield. Caythorpe are 21 behind Kimberley so know that a positive result is a must to keep the pressure on.

Plumtree are third now, just a further two points adrift. Saturday sees them make the short trip to Radcliffe-on-Trent.

It’s now four without a win for Plumtree, and the bad news for them is that Radcliffe have won their last four at home.

Champions Cuckney, find themselves in fifth and 41 points behind the leaders after a run of just two wins in 10 matches.

They travel to Clifton Village, knowing that only wins, and a large slice of help from others will be enough to keep them in the hunt. Clifton will be hoping to field the full complement of 11 players this week.

Nottinghamshire Academy are five points behind Cuckney after their win last week, and head to Farnsfield in good spirits.

Their hosts dug out a draw against Cuckney last time out, but now sit only seven points ahead of Ordsall in 10th.

Attenborough now sit bottom of the table. They’ve lost three of their last four and won only once in 10 matches, so need a turnaround in fortunes sooner rather than later.

Welbeck will play host to their latest attempt. The home side have run out victorious in three of their last four home matches, and will be keen to continue their push for a top six finish.
