Mansfield League round-up: Mansfield coast to 10-wicket win

But Anston (188-3) strengthened their position at the head of the table with a three wicket win over Hucknall (187).

In Section One, Welbeck scored a magnificent 361-5 against Ashover (172-8) with R. Stroh (150) and A. Marchant (79 not out) doing the damage, but had to settle for 17 points for a winning draw.

Coal Aston (262-6) obtained a winning draw in a close contest with Grassmoor (256-8)

In Section Two, Morton (190-8) maintained their position at the top by gaining a winning draw at Creswell (163-9) while Blackwell (136-7) had their first win of the season by beating Coal Aston (135-7) by three wickets.

Parkhead (211-6) continued their push for promotion from Section Three by beating Chesterfield Barbarians (207) by six wickets.

Meanwhile Ockbrook & Borrowash (361-3) had a massive win over Kirkby Portland (78) with A. Dixon scoring 160 not out for Ockbrook.

Papplewick continue to make the pace in Section Four, this week gaining maximum points when Mansfield CC who were unable to raise a team.

South Normanton (296-1) beat Teversal (105) by 191 runs, J. Wilkinson scoring 142 not out and C Green’s hat-trick in perfect figures of 3-0 did the main damage.

In Section Five Papplewick & Linby (241-9) got the better of Wirksworth & Middleton (203-8) in a top of the table clash with Papplewick taking 17 points to Waleswood’s eight.

Kingsway Park (167) were on the losing side, despite N. Shafiq scoring 63 and taking six wickets as Anston (168-9) beat them by one wicket.

The only match in Section Six this week saw Selston (133-6) beat Swanwick (129) by four wickets and move to the top of the table.

In Section Seven Anston Ladies recorded their first win of the season by beating Sheffield Transport by seven wickets which meant all three Anston sides fielding teams on the day had win their games.
