Kimberley one win from Nottinghamshire Premier League title

Kimberley Institute will win the Nottinghamshire Premier League title this coming weekend if they win their top-of-the-table showdown at second-placed Cuckney.

A five-wicket win over Attenborough made it 17 wins out of 17 for Kimberley to leave them 30 points clear of Cuckney with five games – and 40 points – left to play for.

Therefore, victory at Cuckney this weekend will stretch Kimberley’s lead to an unassailable 38 points with only 32 left available.

Rock-bottom Attenborough had no answer to Kimberley’s bowling attack as they were bundled out for just 113 in 26.3 overs, Harry Burnhill leading the way with 4-30, while Aatish Kean Maharaj claimed 3-23.

Kimberley then eased home at 114-5 in 22.3 in reply with Rob Sutton (42) and Matthew Campbell (34) leading the way.

Cuckney kept the title race mathematically alive with a five-wicket win at Notts Arnold & Amateur, while third-placed Hucknall remain a further win back after beating Collingham & District by 69 runs.
