Ball ended the Blast campaign with 19 wickets as the Outlaws won their second T20 title.

It capped a brilliant turnaround for the paceman who spent most of last summer’s campaign on the sidelines.

“It was incredible to win, after last year not playing a lot of t20 cricket it was a tough time,” he said.

“To come out of that leading wicket taker and have my best year in t20 cricket was massive, it's funny how much difference a year can make.

“Going out and being able to express myself was great. It’s been a great year for me and the team, it is one of the best T20 sides I have played in.

“The opposition in both matches didn’t score a boundary in the last four overs of their innings.

“In T20 cricket that is a big thing and gave us momentum going into the second innings.

“We have so much faith in what we do and we practice a lot of death bowling, it was great to show that our skills held up under pressure.

“It was a weird 48 hours of not knowing if we would play when we first arrived.

“There was talk about bowl outs. There's not much you can do in those situations, people think it's easier but a bowl out is harder than you think , especially when you have the pressure on.

“Once we got the go ahead and knew we would play we were switched on and knew if we performed as we had done earlier in the tournament then we had a great chance.”

And Ball, who tasted T20 glory with Notts in 2017, said the players were thrilled to bring happiness to the Outlaws fans.

“I remember going to my friends and family in 2017 when we won it,” he added. “It was a nice moment to share with them so it was disappointing not to be able to do that this time.

“But we have won a trophy for Notts. I have spoken to some fans who say we have done them proud. It's a difficult time for a lot of people and we wanted to bring them some happiness and it's really special to do that.

“This is one of the more special ones to win because of what it means to people.”
