Glamorgan close in on win over Derbyshire

Despite a century from skipper Billy Godleman, Glamorgan's bowlers continued to make inroads into Derbyshire's second innings and at lunch they had been dismissed for 536, with Glamorgan needing 196 to win.

Godleman scored his sixth hundred for Derbyshire from 149 balls, but six runs later Godleman attempted to hook a short ball from Graham Wagg, but was superbly caught down the leg side by Mark Wallace.

It was Wallace’s ninth victim of the game, equalling the Glamorgan record previously held by Colin Metson since 1995.

Matt Critchley helped Godleman put on113 in 26 overs, before another two wickets fell in quick succession.

Tony Palladino edged Andrew Salter’s arm ball to slip, before Will Davis, prodding forward to Owen Morgan’s left arm spin, was out leg before.
