Five-star Scottorn keeps title-chasing Kimberley 100 per cent
A five-wicket haul from George Scottorn ensured Kimberley Institute made it 14 out of 14 at the top of the Nottinghamshire Premier League.
Scottorn claimed 5-43 to earn Kimberley a 29-run win at Mansfield Hosiery Mills and keep them clear of the pack.

After winning the toss and batting first, Kimberley’s innings was anchored by opener Harrison Parker, who top-scored with 83 off 84 balls – blasting 10 fours and four sixes – and put on 71 for the second wicket with Matthew Campbell (45) and 87 for the third with Harry Burnhill (32).
But from 171-2 – and seemingly looking well set for a big total – Kimberley suffered a collapse as they lost seven wickets for just 48 and it was left to player-coach Dilhan Cooray (32) and last man Aatish Kean Maharaj (12no) to get them to a final total of 248 in 47.4 overs.
In reply, half-centuries from Rayhan Don (50) and Tharindu Amarasinghe (58) gave Mansfield a solid start.
But from 129-2, Mansfield then lost their next seven wickets for just 64, with wickets for George Bacon, Burnhill and Campbell before Scottorn finished things off with the final three to fall as they were bowled out for 219 in 46.4 overs.
Kimberley remain 20 points clear of current champions Cavaliers & Carrington, whose win over Hucknall allowed Cuckney to move ahead of the latter into third.
