Five Notts Outlaws set to play in Pakistan Super League

Dan Christian, Joe Clarke, Alex Hales, Imad Wasim and Samit Patel will all compete for the PSL crown, which gets underway next month.

Alex Hales and Imad Wasim were both part of the title-winning Karachi Kings side in 2020, but will line up on opposing sides this time out

Hales will line up for Islamabad United, while Wasim will look to make it two in a row with Karachi.

Hales, currently starring in the BBL with Sydney Thunder, hit 272 runs in the 2020 PSL with a high score of 80*, while Wasim’s seven wickets came at an economy rate of 7.06.

Christian, who is one of an elite bunch to have scored 5,000 runs and taken 250 wickets in T20 cricket, was chosen as a diamond pick by reigning champions Karachi Kings.

The Outlaws’ T20 skipper will be joined in Karachi by Joe Clarke, who was picked up by Kings after hitting a tournament-high 22 sixes in the 2020 Vitality Blast.

Patel, meanwhile, was retained by Lahore Qalandars, for whom he took ten wickets at 23.50 in the 2020 edition of the competition.

The PSL is set to begin on 20 February, with the final taking place on 22 March.
