Derbyshire v Glamorgan '“ Day Two - Tea

..
.
Ben Slater led Derbyshire's recovery after Michael Hogan took two quick wickets after lunch for Glamorgan on the second afternoon of the game at the County Ground.

Slater played watchfully in testing conditions on a pitch which had more life than on the first day and was unbeaten on 41 out of 98-2 when tea was taken early because of rain.

Batting was certainly more awkward and Derbyshire might have lost more wickets if Glamorgan’s bowling had been more consistent.

Hogan was the pick of the attack, beating Chesney Hughes’s expansive drive before Hamish Rutherford’s upper-cut landed in the hands of third man.

Wayne Madsen did well to survive a nasty lifter first ball but then settled in with Slater to steer Derbyshire through the rest of the session before the rain set in.
