Dan Lawrence frustrates Derbyshire
Essex’s highly promising batsman Dan Lawrence has frustrated the Derbyshire bowlers on the opening morning of the LV County Championship Division Two match at Derby.
The 18-year-old right hander batted through the first session to score 43 out of 93-1 after Derbyshire had won the toss and put Essex in on a chilly overcast day.
Lawrence’s application made it a disappointing morning for Derbyshire who would have expected more than the one wicket in the conditions as they try and win at home in the championship for the first time this season.
