The battle at the bottom of the table took place at Station Lane where Papplewick secured their first win of the season to swap places with Farnsfield who are now at the foot of the league (pictured above).

The home side chose to bat first and will have been disappointed to be skittled for 135 in 40.4 overs.

Matthew Sisson scored 54 at the top of the order but no one else could get past 20.

Kieron McComb took 4-12 from just 34 balls after Jim Rhodes (3-35) and Jack McIver (3-39) removed the top order.

Papplewick’s batsmen took confidence from their bowling unit and they overcame their target in 31 overs with Alex Lloyd striking the right tone with 59 from 61 balls at the top of the order before Adam Rostance (32*) and Mark Nelson (31*) saw them home.

Mansfield Hosiery Mills consolidated their position in fourth with a winning draw at home against Caythorpe.

Gareth Curtis struck his second century of the season with his 108 powering the home side to 298-3, with 67 from Tom New and 40 from Sudesh Fernando.

Caythorpe were rarely up with the rate and they ended their 50 overs on 182-6 thanks mainly to an unbeaten 66 from Matt Dowman.

The final game saw Clifton secure their third win of the season with a 99-run victory at home against Welbeck.

The home side struck 266-6 in their 50 overs with Jarrod Coombe (85) and Scott McNeill (94) putting on 173 for the first wicket with additional support being provided by Caleb Mierkalns with 42 and Robert French leading the Welbeck bowling with 4-49.

The visitors were always behind the clock and lost regular wickets and were dismissed for 167 in just over 40 overs with only French (38) and Jon Ball (32) putting up any solid resistance.

Martin Weightman has had a good return to bowling after his shoulder injury at the start of the season and he ripped through the Welbeck line-up with 7-47.

Rolls Royce continue to dominate the league in their debut season and demonstrated their strength with a four-wicket win over the West Indian Cavaliers at Watnall Road.

Chasing 189, Birch (66) and Adeel Shafique (27) put on 97 for the first wicket and they reached their target with more than 10 overs to spare despite Afzaal taking 3-48 for the Cavs.

The Nottinghamshire Academy have endured a difficult few weeks, but they bounced back on Saturday with a strong five-wicket away win over Kimberley.
