Brendan Taylor continues good form for Nottinghamshire

Brendan Taylor continued where he left off against Worcestershire last week with an unbeaten half century on the second day of Nottinghamshire’s LV= County Championship game against Middlesex at Trent Bridge.

With Middlesex finally bowled out for 374, off the final ball of the 108th over, Notts set about their reply on a wicket that was getting better by the session.

However, when tea arrived early, due to rain, the host county found themselves two wickets down and with Taylor, once again, providing the glue to keep the innings together.

Alex Hales was first to go - chopping a James Harris delivery on to his own stumps at 40 for 1, before Michael Lumb felt for a James Franklin delivery outside his off stump and succeeded only in edging the ball to wicket-keeper John Simpson.

At the other end, Taylor batted with authority and passed 50 off 92 balls with seven fours. At tea, Notts had moved on to 96 for 2, in the 31st over, with Taylor unbeaten on 53.
