Champions Cuckney bounce back to crush leaders

Cuckney had lost ground in the title race by losing to Kimberley, but they proved their mettle with an easy seven-wicket victory over the leaders.

They quickly reduced Cavaliers to 13-4 and bowled them out for 88, with Jack Cattrall claiming 4-23 and Jonathan Ball 3-21.

In reply, Cuckney made a bad start of their own, losing two wickets with only three runs on the board, but they recovered in the hands of Will Butler, who hit an unbeaten 52 and shared a stand of 53 with Tom Ullyott as the visitors romped home inside 23 overs.

Cuckney remain third in the table, but are now only one point behind Cavaliers, with Kimberley the new top dogs and 17 points clear. All three teams have seven games to play.

At the foot of the table, Mansfield Hosiery Mills at last celebrated their first win of the season, at the 15th attempt. They did in style too, dismissing Plumtree for 167 and then easing to 171-1.

Man-of-the-match was all-rounder Anuk Fernando, who took 4-56 with the ball and then hammered an unbeaten 100 with the bat, sharing a stand of 164 with Davin Perera (50no). Daniel Harris also took 3-22.

In mid-table, Farnsfield amassed a formidable total of 310-8 in their winning draw at home to Attenborough. It revolved around a second-wicket stand of 157 between Solomon Budinger, who cracked a tremendous 103 off 72 balls, smashing six sixes and 12 fours, and Steven Musgrove (52).

Callum McKenzie added 54 and Curtis Mitchell an unbeaten 40 before the visitors recovered from 18-3 and 81-6 to limp to 161-6 in reply, despite good bowling by Joseph Worrall (3-26).
