Brown battles the elements to take the honours again

A bright start to the day turned even before the whistle was blown, with anglers battling against the conditions.

Coming off the back of the fish spawning last weekend, this was going to be a battle of the brave.

From the off, Brown fished over to the island from peg 10 and was into fish.

With a steady stream of carp helped him build a respectable weight, but it was his margin swims that came alive in the last hour.

Fishing a top kit and paste as hook bait, Brown boosted his weight putting and additional 20lb in the net to take a register a respectable weight of 82lb-15oz.

Andy Topham fished from peg 7 to boost his league place with nine points taking 53lb-5oz to the scales.

Another in-form angler topping the Champions League is Gary Butcher.

He put in another good display of angling today fishing from peg 5, putting 41lb into his nets finishing the match third and picking up 10 points.
