The action will include an opening game between Wakey Wheeled Cats and York Minxters.

Team captain Laura Mitchell said: “We are so proud to be bringing the Roller Derby British Championships to Mansfield.

“Roller derby is an exciting sport to watch – it’s fast paced and tactical, with the added excitement of full-contact hits. There is no sport quite like it and we would love to see some new faces in the crowd for our home fixture.”

Mansfield started the 2017 season with a 200-point win against Grimsby’s Grim Reavers and then defeated Durham City’s Rolling Angels 398-38.
