Jack Corbett stopped his opponent Buddy Lee from Bulwell Fight Factory within 70 seconds of the first bell after landing a number of unanswered shots, Leon Lapinski forced Pat Pearson to pull out after the first and Joe Brailsford needed only 44 seconds to halt out-gunned Louie O’Hagan from Stockport.

Jason Boucher ended Danny Payne’s challenge in round two after a left hook had put Danny down in the first and Body & Soul’s Dom Allcock lost narrowly on points to Snowy from Fighting Fit.

Justin Marriot and Russel Cartlidge, representing Team Block, both won their fights in the second round. Russel had a tough battle against Reece Collins of Stockport while Justin was comfortably beating Will Cairns when the visitor from Stockport had to pull out with an elbow injury. Well-supported Dean Rowley and Nicky Furness were also in action. Dean beat Rory Roberts from Manchester by two points and Nicky was stopped in the opener by hard-hitting Shaun White of Fighting Fit.

Two exhibition bouts opened the well organised dinner show. Wes Dolan and Dean Taylor boxed a draw in a good fight and Graham Parker and Graeme Carmichael had a three round fight of the night tear-up. Graham Parker raised £590 for MacMillan Nurses charity, having boxed in memory of his late father.

Roger said: “It all ran very smoothly and professionally and there were no hiccups, so I was delighted.”

The next event takes place at Shirebrook’s Kissingate Leisure Centre on Saturday, 7th December.
