Nathan Kirk, who trains at Huthwaite Pro-Am Gym, will make his professional boxing debut on Friday, 1st November at Clifton Sports centre.

Former kickboxing pro champion Nathan, based in Nottingham, has been training with Scott Calow and other coaches at Huthwaite for a year and a half and has now signed a contract with Calow for three years as a professional boxer.

Kirk said: “Scott Calow has invested a lot of time and knowledge in me and has turned me from a fighter to a technical and strong boxer.

“Everyone at the gym are all local lads from Huthwaite, Sutton and Hucknall, and they have all welcomed me into their gym and have made me feel like a local myself.

“As a teenager I trained in kickboxing and went on to turn professional. I had a very good career spanning four years in which I won the WKA Area title as well as the WKA English title with a top three British ranking.

“I then turned to mixed martial arts and K1 for two or three years, and in that time I had a run of 10 knockout victories back to back.

“Next Friday I am looking to make a good entrance to the professional game with a solid victory.
