Blidworth sneak a win against Glapwell men by just two runs

The Championship match at Burma Road saw the closest winning margin of the weekend, in Blidworth Colliery Welfare's favour.

Batting first Blidworth posted 164 thanks to impressive scores from Ben Cordon (40) and Tom Ramage (49).

For Glapwell, Daniel Pykett (3-51) and Tom Newcombe (4-24) starred with the ball.

In reply, Glapwell scored 162, losing by just two runs.

Craig Turton returned figures of 5-40 for Blidworth.

Hosts Cuckney II won the toss and chose to bat, major contributions coming from Josh Porter (48) and Joseph Hayes (45) as they posted 214.

In reply, Anston were reliant on Callum Smith (47), however he struggled to find a partner and the visitors were bowled out for 167.

The Cuckney II bowling was built upon Mark Langford (4-51) and Kian Tansley (3-51).

Edwinstowe, batting first, made a respectable score of 161, and were indebted to Tom Ward (40), and Adam Dutton (36).

For Ordsall Bridon Irfan Marofkhail took 3-35.

In response, Ordsall Bridon made a strong start with Martyn Long scoring 43 of the 50 scored by the opening partnership.

Edwinstowe gained the impetus with the introduction of Tom Ward (3-55).

Jonathan Tomlinson took advantage of the tiring Edwinstowe bowlers and made a quick-fire unbeaten 33 as Ordsall Bridon won by three wickets.

The match at Papplewick was a low scoring affair; Clipstone Welfare could manage only 81 runs, thanks to a score of 37 from Lee Wilson.

Jim Rhodes and Gareth Blinkhorn shared nine of the 10 Clipstone wickets to fall.

In response, a score of 39 from Alex Lloyd ensured a nine-wicket Papplewick and Linby win to extend their lead at the top.

In the final game North Wheatley with Leverton beat Notts & Arnold Amateur by a 31 run margin.
