ONLY seven matches in the entire Bassetlaw and District League survived the storms in a rain-washed Saturday programme.
The inclement weather caused the cancellation of the majority of games, with all Championship games being called off.
At Harthill, in Division One, the home side did their promotion hopes the world of good by crushing Welbeck II by a massive 10 wicket margin.
Welbeck were bowled out for a very disappointing 102 and, considering that Greg Herbert scored 54 of the runs, their innings total looks even worse.
Rob Jones (3 for 45) and Rob Hartley (5 for 20) simply skittled some rather tepid opposition and Welbeck could not have been happy with this inept showing.
The victory was achieved very easily as Harthill skipper Ian Briggs, with an unbeaten 68, gave his side maximum points which was a very welcome bonus.
Also in Division One, Papplewick & Linby II played out a time game against Mansfield & Pleasley at Papplewick Hall in a rain-affected draw.
A better performance with the bat saw Papplewick reach 164 for 8, mainly due to skipper Robin Rhodes who made an excellent 62.
With little time left Mansfield & Pleasley settled for a draw with Steve Gooding making 32 out of a total of 88 for 4.
In Division Two, Mansfield Hosiery Mills II drew with Wiseton but picked up just four points, finishing on 112 for 8.
