Ashfield seconds blitzed by Chesterfield
Facing a very strong and well-drilled opposition, it only took two minutes for their superiority to show.
From a scrum, 15m out and from the base of a scrum the Chesterfield scrum half raced over the try line. With the conversion, the home side raced into an early seven point lead.

Although the game was largely all Chesterfield-dominated, Ashfield did enjoy a 15-minute spell midway through the first half.
The best opening for Ashfield was fashioned by centre Johnathan Richardson, who had a splendid game at inside centre.
He fed the ball to Curtis Green and, with a two man overlap, he looked to have played this man advantage into a try-scoring opportunity. But as the ball left his hands he was tackled by a Chesterfield player.
The referee deemed this a dangerous tackle and immediately blew his whistle, the crowd assumed a yellow card would be produced but the played only received a lecture.

With Chesterfield ringing the changes, their strong side got even stronger, running in six tries, three of which were converted that turned the game into a rout.
