This £20 indoor security camera is so good I’ve bought four of them (aff)

This popular Tapo indoor camera has dropped to just £19.99 on Amazon, delivering 2K footage, smart tracking and no monthly fees

I have four of these cameras in my house, because they're just so simple, reliable, and cheap.

Tapo's C211 pan and tilt indoor camera sells in huge numbers, and it's little wonder, because even at their normal price of £39.99 they offer 2K footage, live streaming, AI detection, 360° viewing, night-vision and no monthly fees.

But there's a deal on at the moment, and it's available on Amazon for £19.99.

The last time I saw the price this low was during Prime Day, which is when I snapped up my fourth camera. And it's such a bargain for such a clever piece of tech.

You just link them up to your WiFi using the brilliant Tapo app, and you've got an instant security camera, baby monitor, pet watcher, or even just something to spy on your wife to make sure she's not making too much mess in the kitchen. Or is that just me?

The pan/tilt/zoom function works brilliantly on them, and I love the fact you can add an SD card to store footage without having to sign up to a mandatory cloud subscription. You also get uninterrupted live feeds, which is quite unusual in WiFi cameras. You can even link them up to Alexa and Google displays.

The only issue I find with them is that, as an indoor-only camera, if you use it to monitor your driveway or garden through a window, it'll work fine in the daytime, but they're less useful in the evenings. While the night-vision works brilliantly indoors, it won't work through glass. There's just a bright glare. It's fine for watching a well-lit area though, and the motion detection works very well.

But for £20 you can't go wrong. In fact, I think I'm going to snap up another one. I might as well coat the whole house in them.
