Forget traditional beauty advent calendars, Lush has created one entirely around bath time, with 25 bath bombs and bubble bars behind its festive doors.

When the 2026 beauty advent calendars started launching last month, one that caught my eye straight away was the Lush 29½ High Street Advent Calendar.

This isn't your typical beauty calendar. Instead of filling its 25 doors with a mixture of skincare, make-up and haircare, Lush has dedicated the entire thing to one of my favourite ways to relax: having a bath.

And having now had the chance to try it, I can say it lived up to all my expectations.

The concept is wonderfully simple. Behind the doors are 25 bath treats to enjoy from December 1 right through to Christmas, including bath bombs and bubble bars. Lush describes it as a daily dip of seasonal joy, and that really is what it feels like - and it even managed to make me feel a little bit of that festive magic in August, which is when I gave it a try.

The selection of bath treats inside favourites such as Snow Fairy and festive focuses like Christmas Tree, Reindeer, Magical Santa and Snowman Dreaming, alongside less traditional but still lovely treats including Dominick The Donkey, The Christmas Penguin. There are also several gift-exclusive products, making the contents feel even more special.

What immediately appealed to me was that it's beauty, but a little bit different. There are plenty of beauty advent calendars on the market, but this is the only one I've come across that focuses completely on bath bombs and bubble bars. For me, that's a huge advantage.

What I like about the Lush 29½ High Street Advent Calendar

I've always been a big fan of Lush bath products, so the idea of opening a door every day and knowing that I'll find something I actually want to use is pretty much my idea of advent calendar heaven.

That's one of the problems I've found with some other beauty advent calendars. The variety can be fantastic, but it can also mean you end up with at least a couple of products, if not more, that simply aren't suitable for you, aren't something you'd normally use or just aren't particularly exciting.

That's not really an issue here if you’re a bath lover like me. Every single door contains something designed to make bath time more enjoyable, whether that's a colourful bath bomb or a bubble bar to create a mountain of bubbles. I greatly enjoyed discovering gift exclusives including Snoozy Bear, Honey Bear, Rosie Bear and Swirly Sticky Dates, and returning to well-known Lush favourites such as Snow Fairy, Butterball and Sleepy.

That makes the £135 price tag feel much easier to justify for me. I'm getting 25 products that I actually want, and that makes it feel like money very well spent. Plus, that works out at uist over £5 per day, which I would say is affordable. Especially in comparison to some of the other beauty calendars on the market.

Of course, there is the Lush designs to appreciate before you even enjoy your bath. The products are colourful, playful and beautifully made, and that makes opening each door feel like a proper treat rather than simply ticking another day off the countdown. It’s almost a shame to let them dissolve in the water they’re so pretty.

The packaging itself is gorgeous too. The calendar is designed like a festive house, with charming illustrated details that will make you smile. You’ll want to put this on display when advent season has arrived, and even before that if you buy in advance. You can buy the Lush 29½ High Street Advent Calendar now.

I also love the idea of turning December into an excuse to slow down. Instead of simply opening a chocolate or beauty product and moving on with your day, this calendar gives you something to look forward to later on. You can choose your bath bomb, run the water, amd enjoy a little bit of luxury every day in what can be a very fun but very exhausting month.

And for anyone who has read my previous review of the Lush Bath Bot, you'll know just how much I enjoy relaxing in the bath. An excuse to have one every day in the run-up to Christmas is perfect for me.

What I don't like about the Lush 29½ High Street Advent Calendar

There isn't much I don't like about this calendar, which is probably testament to how well suited it is to me.

If I had to find one downside, it's the size. This is a chunky advent calendar, which is hardly surprising when you consider that it has to house 25 full-size bath products. But it does mean it's not the easiest thing to find a home for if you do buy well in advance.

That won't really be a problem once December arrives because advent calendars are supposed to be on proud display, and this one is certainly pretty enough to deserve its place. But if you're buying yours early, you'll need somewhere to store it until you're ready to start opening the doors.

I'd also say that the £135 price means this isn't going to be an impulse purchase. But I think the value depends on whether you're actually going to use the contents. For me, knowing that I will appreciate every single product makes the investment more than worthwhile.

My Verdict

The Lush 29½ High Street Advent Calendar lived up to all my expectations and has completely won me over. I love that Lush has resisted the temptation to make a beauty calendar that tries to please everyone and instead created something wonderfully specific. This is an advent calendar for bath lovers, and it absolutely knows its audience.

For me, the fact that every door contains a bath bomb or bubble bar is actually one of its biggest strengths. I would much rather have 25 products that I know I'll enjoy than a more varied calendar where several items end up going unused.

At £135, it is quite a costly outlay, but when I look at what I'm getting in return, it feels like money well spent. Plus, it is cheaper than many other beauty calendars on the market. The beautiful house-shaped packaging is the finishing touch.

If you're a committed Lush fan, a bath lover and want an advent calendar that feels a little different from the usual beauty offerings, this is one I'd happily recommend because Christmas countdowns don't get much more relaxing than this.
