A new app from The AA aims to take the stress out of car breakdowns by letting drivers report issues digitally and share their exact location instantly

Breaking down in your car is bad enough to derail your day, but it can also leave you in a vulnerable situation. That’s why getting help quickly really matters. Now, a new app from The AA is designed to make that rescue process faster and easier.

Available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, The AA’s latest app acts as a digital motoring companion. It helps drivers plan journeys, monitor traffic, locate fuel stations or EV chargers, and keep tabs on service and MOT dates. When it comes to breakdowns, though, it adds a particularly useful extra.

Instead of phoning through the details, drivers can report a breakdown directly within the app. A dedicated section allows AA rescue teams to pinpoint your exact location using your phone’s GPS.

This means that even if you’re stuck on a dark country road, patrols can find you without delay. Depending on the issue, your vehicle will either be repaired at the roadside or recovered to a nearby garage.

AA membership starts from £5.49 per month for vehicle cover, with prices tailored to individual circumstances. You can also check a personalised quote online.

The AA remains the UK’s most trusted breakdown provider, with more patrols than any rival service. There are no extra charges for electric or hybrid vehicles, and members benefit from unlimited callouts. A full list of personal and vehicle cover prices is available online too.
