Wednesday 27th August saw the arrival of the People’s March to Save the NHS to Mansfield and they were welcomed to the market square by many locals who turned out to support the cause of keeping the NHS for the people and not for profit.
Many local groups were involved in the march and we would like to thank all those involved in achieving such a successful two days in our area.
Thanks must first go to Ann and Eric of the Ex and Retired Mineworkers Association, who were the lead co-ordinators of the event locally. Their work linked everyone together and enabled everything to run smoothly.
Others to thank were Pleasley Miners Welfare, Louise and Chris and crew for accommodation and marshalling, Mansfield District Council staff and market stall holders, ABC taxis, Greggs, Bodums BBQ Grill, Trades Union Councils, National Union of Teachers, National Union of Mineworkers, Local churches, Unite, Green Party, Labour Party, Socialist Party, local Councillors, Kings Mill Centre plus CHAD, local radio and TV stations for their coverage and many other individuals who turned up on the day.

Apologies if not everyone has been mentioned here, but everyone’s help and support was appreciated.
