LETTER: Lazy litter louts need to be fined

As a resident of Meden Vale, I am frequently dismayed by the amount of litter left on the streets and elsewhere.

I am concerned about the people who are too lazy to take bottles out of bags or boxes and instead just leave them in front of the bottle bank.

On a recent morning I photographed a discarded car seat in the Meden Vale community park where there are always numerous cans and food wrapping litter, usually within a few feet of waste bins.

On the same morning, I found a pile of charity plastic bags alongside the main road. Apparently some person paid to deliver them had preferred to dump them in the street. All these offences carry a fine of £70.

It is regrettable that there is no-one to implement such fines.
