Youngsters can learn about museums and social media - as well as picking up career tips and skills - on Future History, a programme at Mansfield Museum for 11 – 15 year olds.

Over 10 weeks the group will cover everything from online exhibits, museum blogging and social media, podcasts and audio, photography for museums and creative interpretation and storytelling.

Career and training ideas and options will also be discussed. All equipment is provided by the Museum so participants just have to bring themselves.

Participants will have their work shown on a website and in the museum, as well as receiving a certificate at the end. It’ll be a great taster for how digital media skills can be used in real world jobs.

Future History will take place every Tuesday from April 29 to 8 July between 3:30 and 5:30, excluding school holidays.

It’s completely free, thanks to funding from Museum Development East Midlands.
