Splash Dance Swimming Academy in Kirkby in Ashfield were in the swim for charity after a fund raising event for Nottingham Children’s Hospital last month.

The school held a fun gala where children as young as three years-old took part in six races at Ashfield School.

Teams were split into mixed abilities and swam races such as a relay race, egg and spoon race and even a inflatable race.

Janine Bramley, owner of Splash Dance, said: “All of the children got a medal for their efforts and the day was an incredible success.

“We used the gala as a fund raiser to raise money for Nottingham Children’s Hospital, a charity which was chosen by the parents and staff.

“The total amount raised was £844.

“And the person who raised the most money received a trophy for their efforts.

“The winners were Payton and Skyla Housley who raised an incredible £155.”
